I bought an Ibanez RX mid nineties (in The Netherlands, so for the European market). I'm unable to determine the exact model. The serial no. is F415414, meaning it's build in the Fujigen factory in Japan in september 1994. According to the RX series page on this wiki, these models are affordableversions from the RG series initially build in Korea (I paid about fl. 1000,-, which is €450 without inflation correction and I guess some €700-800 with correction). But the strange thing is: mine is said to be build in Japan. If I look in the 1994/95 European Catalogs, the RX170 seems the closest match, but they are build in Korea, and there's no model in the natural finish like mine. Also, the pickups are different (I have a black pickups with a beige edge) likewise the knobs. The RX170D was available with a finish that looks like mine, although my headstock has the same color as the body. The knbos are different and, it's produced in 96/97... RX2170B was not in my finish and sold in Japan. The RX175B was made in Japan, but from 1998, not in the right finish and black hardware (mine is chrome). The RX180GQ also made in Japan in the right periode but different finished, the later RX180G is also different. The RX270 seems a closer match, but build in Korea, for USA market and no natural finish. The pickups look the same and the knobs look a like, though in a different color. These are the models that more or less look the same, others have pickguards and/or top lock systems. Is there anyone who has a clue, or knows where I can find more info?
