The SA260FM is an SA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2003. In terms of specifications, the SA260FM has gone through several changes, but consistent features include a flamed maple top, Ibanez pickups in an HSS configuration and a synchronized tremolo.
Production of the SA260FM started in Korea in 2003. 2003 models featured a nato body and a 1-piece neck, but was changed after one year into a mahogany body and a 3-piece neck. After 2005, production moved to Indonesia. Again, several changes were made to the SA260FM, including a new tremolo and a new set of pickups with the fully splitable True Duo Bucker. In 2009 two new finishes were introduced: Blackberry Sunburst and Transparent Emerald Burst.
The SA260FM is also available left-handed as the SA260FML. Other similar models are the SA220FM with an HH pickup configuration, the SA260QM with a quilted maple top and the SAS36FM with a set-in neck.
