The S470 is an S series solid body guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1995. It is an affordable S model, made in Korea, with the Lo-TRS II tremolo and Ibanez made Axis pickups. It replaced the Japanese made identically named model for the US market. Outside the US, the Japanese S470 was still available.

The S470 was discontinued after 2001, but returned in 2003 -see S470 (2003–2009), again Korean made, but otherwise completely revised. It was available left-handed as the S470L.
