The RGT5EX is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid-2006. It was a spot model which was sold exclusively through the retailer Musician's Friend.

The RGT5EX features a neck through body construction with basswood wings attached to a maple and walnut Wizard II neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with small offset dot position markers. Components include an Edge Pro II double locking tremolo bridge and dual Designed by EMG active humbucking pickups.

The RGT6EX is a similar model with regular EMG pickups.

The RGT5EX was produced for only a few months in 2006.
