The RG8527Z is a seven-string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2010. It is the first seven-string that is a part of the handcrafted-in-Japan J Custom line since the 2007 RG8427F.

The RG8527Z features a flamed maple top and binding on an African mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and wenge neck with Velvetouch treatment and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with flamed maple binding and Tree of Life inlays. Components include dual DiMarzio PAF 7 humbucking pickups, an Edge Zero 7 tremolo bridge with removable ZPS tuning stabilizer and Gotoh tuning machines.

The titanium rods in the neck were removed for 2018 when this model became available in the European market.

The RG8527SP is a similar limited production model with a spalted maple top and gold hardware.
