The RG8420ZD is a RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2008. It is made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J Custom line.

The RG8420ZD features an African mahogany body with a AAA flamed maple top with binding bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and walnut neck with Velvetouch treatment and a 24-fret bound selected rosewood fingerboard with Tree of Life vine inlays. Components include recessed Easy Access control knobs, two Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and a removable zero-point system and Gotoh tuning machines.

The RG8420QD which was introduced in 2015 is similar except it has a quilted maple top, different bridge and some additional pickup coil-tap features.
