The RG7420 is a seven-string RG series solid body electric guitar model re-introduced by Ibanez in 2013. A model with the same name had a three-year production run in the early 2000s. This model is essentially a seven-string, tremolo-bridge version of the RG421.
The specs of the RG7420 have been tweaked a bit during each year of its second run (beginning in 2013), but common features include a 3-piece Wizard II-7 neck, tremolo bridge and dual humbucking pickups.
From 2013, the Edge Zero II (and probably the Edge Zero II-7 as well) does not come equipped with the ZPS3 on non-Prestige models. It is replaced by the conventional 3 springs/claw setup.
A hard-tail version, the RG7421 was also offered. A similar model with an exotic poplar burl top, the RG7420PB, was added in 2016.
