The RG550LTD is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1994.
The RG550LTD features a basswood body bolted to a maple (maple and bubinga from 1997) neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and dual Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups flanking an Ibanez S1 single coil.
The RG550LTD was the second RG550 model featuring a mirror pickguard, following the RG550DX which it replaced. The black examples have a standard mirror guard. The blue and purple guitars sport color-matched mirror guards. So called "hologram" guards are used on the pewter and copper models.
The RG550LTD was discontinued after 1999. Its place was taken in the lineup by the RG550EX for 2000.
