The RG340 is a Roadstar series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1988. The Roadstar series would eventually become known as the RG series.
The RG340 is one of only a handful of RG models with humbucker/single/single pickup configuration. It's also one of only a few RG models produced with a 22-fret neck. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
The RG340 features a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard neck with a 22-fret fingerboard with dot inlays. Components included Ibanez pickups with a humbucker at the bridge and single coil pickups in the middle and neck positions and a double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut.
The RG360 is a similar model which was sold in Japan and Europe. The RG350 is a related model with pickguard-mounted pickups in an HSH configuration. The RG540 is an upgrade model from the RG340.
The RG340 was produced for only one year and sold exclusively in the United States.
