This pickup is not related to the similarly named V7 humbucker.
The tube pole-piece construction of the new pickups designed for the Ibanez Darkstone offers quick response, sparkling clarity and added harmonics for a humbucker sound. At the same time, humbucker-sized single-coil pickups were also introduced in the Darkstone series, the HS1 pickups (see below).
Humbucker-sized single-coil pickups introduced in 2009 in the Darkstone series, along with the PP1 pickups (see above). Only two models use the HS1, the DN400 and the DN600. [They] produce loud and crunchy tones that cut through for hard rock and punk styles.
