The Ibanez MRG2, also known as the MRG1QMG, is a J Custom RG model featuring a quilted maple top, two DiMarzio humbucking pickups and an Edge Pro tremolo. These MRG models are specially made for the Kurosawa Gakki musical instrument stores in Japan.

The MRG2 was based on the more widely available RG8570 but without the mid pickup and with a ebony fingerboard and gold hardware. Another version of this guitar was issued as the MRG1 featuring cosmo black hardware.
