The most striking feature of the JCS21 is the multicolor Japanese paper with which the body and headstock are covered. It has a mahogany body attached to a set-in maple and bubinga neck with a 22-fret Honduran rosewood fingerboard with a special diamond with wings (or two birds kissing?) inlay at the twelfth fret. Components include a pair of DiMarzio PAF Pro humbucking pickups, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The JCS21 was made for just one year with only 12 examples produced.
