Welcome to Ibanez Wiki
The premier site on the internet for information about Ibanez guitars!
As a wiki, all content on this site is generated by users. If you have something to add to the site, please feel free to do so. The site currently focuses on solid body electric guitars manufactured by Ibanez since 1987. The goal is to eventually expand the scope to include all things Ibanez (hollow body guitars, electric basses, acoustic instruments, amps and electronics, etc.), so if you're interested in helping the site grow, we welcome your assistance. The Project portal is a great place to get started. If you have a question, try the FAQ or submit your own question here. If you want to interact with others in the community, check out the forum.
If you've been following this blog, you're probably aware of the ongoing effort to bring this wiki back to life and make it into the Internet's most definitive resource for information about Ibanez guitars. This effort was undertaken this spring when I happened upon the wiki and realized what a great resource it is. Unfortunately, the wiki's founder had been inactive for the previous five years and the site was not being actively updated.
Our first step was to add articles for all of the models produced since 2011. This first stage was completed in mid-June.
We then re-focused our efforts on fi…Read more >
I noticed recently that its been a couple of months since I've posted on the ongoing effort to jumpstart this wiki and make it THE comprehensive online source for Ibanez information.
As of today every catalog model back to 2002 has been added to the wiki. That means we've now got 15 years of comprehensive coverage of Ibanez solid body guitars. With that, we're (chronologically) half way to our stated goal of covering the period from 1987 (when the first JEMs and the original RG550 were introduced) through present.
Currently this wiki contains 1,294 guitar model articles, which is an increase of over…Read more >
It seems like a good time to pass along an update to the ongoing "Wiki Reboot" effort. We've made a LOT of headway in bringing the site up to date. As of today, we've now got every model which appears in an Ibanez catalog since 2008 documented on the wiki. We've also added many additional models which never (or haven't yet) made a catalog appearance. This includes all of the solid body models introduced at last week's Summer NAMM show. I'm sure there are still a few spot models made in the past 8 years that we're missing, but I doubt there are a whole bunch of these.
Now that the site is essenti…Read more >
The 2016 Summer NAMM show is underway in Nashville. So far I haven't heard much about new Ibanez solid body models. The "big" announcement I've seen from Ibanez so far concerns the Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged acoustic line although Ibanez was touting those on social media several weeks ago.
The only new solid body model that I haven't already seen is the SIX6FDFM which is an S series Iron Label with a reversed headstock. I'll try to get an article put together on that model shortly.
I'll update this post if I see any more announcements. Anyone hearing or seeing anything else new and exciting?

In the past I've featured mostly guitars that are unusual or rare, but today, I've decided to post one that just looks like a bargain to me.
Today's find is a 2001 Destroyer that is listed on Reverb for US $129 + $35 shipping (to lower-48 US only) or best offer. It's been well-used, but appears to still have some life left (of course the devil is in the details). The seller lists it as a 2000 model, but the serial number (W411246) indicates that it was made in April of 2001 for Ibanez by World Musical Instrument Co. of Incheon, South Korea. Based on what I can gather this is a DTX120.
