As a wiki, all content on this site is generated by users. If you have something to add to the site, please feel free to do so. The site currently focuses on solid body electric guitars manufactured by Ibanez. The goal is to eventually expand the scope to include all things Ibanez (hollow body guitars, electric basses, acoustic instruments, amps and electronics, etc.), so if you're interested in helping the site grow, we welcome your assistance. The Project portal is a great place to get started. If you have a question, try the FAQ or submit your own question here. If you want to interact with others in the community, check out the forum.

It's been a couple of weeks or so since I announced the "wiki reboot" project to get this site back in order after a period of benign neglect. I'm proud to say that due largely to the Herculean efforts of KainTGC we've just about got all of the solid body guitars from 2012 documented. Thanks, Kain!

There is still plenty of work to do to document the models between 2013 and the present many of which are still missing (not to mention eventually adding hollow-body guitars, basses, etc.), but I feel like this dormant beast is starting to stir again. If you'd like to help, please feel free to pitch in. A great place to start are the catalog pages which have been created. These pages make it easy to see which models are missing from the wiki — just look for the red links. Creating content is simple once you figure out the process. If you'd like to help but are intimidated by the interface, reach out to me by po…

    Wiki reboot is underway

    April 8, 2016 by Deejayk

The founder and driving force of this wiki, Bram Boerboom, appears to have abandoned this project almost five years back, and since then the project has been largely neglected, with few edits and very few models since 2011 having been documented. Recently I and another editor, KainTGC, have started an effort to essentially reboot the wiki and bring it up to date.

I have undertaken an effort to expand the categorization of guitar models (e.g. by pickup configuration) and to perform some site cleanup (dead links, adding categories, etc.). Meanwhile, KainTGC has begun the process of adding all of the guitars which have been introduced in the past five years. That effort has been described in this forum post.

This is a fairly large undertaking and as such, we'd love to recruit other editors and users of this wiki to pitch in. Even if you've never edited a page before, we'd welcome your participation and would be happy to get you up to speed on the simple process.

If anyone is in touch with B…

    2011 models (First batch)

    January 13, 2011 by Brambram

Today is NAMM day, and that means new models! First of all, there are the new RG Premium series models: the RG920QMZ for the US market, the RG870QMZ for the EU market and the "workhorse" RG870Z. Ibanez also revised the complete non-Prestige RGA series. All RGA models now have the same horn scoops and Ibanez also added two EMG-equipped models to the lineup: The RGA72QME and the tremolo-equipped RGA72TQMZE. More models get the new Edge Zero II tremolo, including the RG350MZ, RG350MPZ and RGD320Z. Ibanez also finally comes with an affordable, tremolo-equipped RG7, the RG7320Z. Last but not least, there's the new APEX100 signature model for Korn's James "Munky" Shaffer and the somewhat new DragonForce guitarist Sam Totman model, the STM2.

Also, check out the 2011 Showcase models, the RG2011SC and DN2011SC.

That's not all of it, expect more updates later today or tomorrow. For all 2011 updates, check Portal:2011.
