The GRG270 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2003. It is one of the initial models in the entry-level GIO line. Prior to 2003 it was known as the RG270.
It is among the most affordable RG models featuring a double locking tremolo. Other features include a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding dot position markers and Ibanez pickups with a pair of humbuckers mounted in pickup rings flanking a single-coil.
From 2008 through 2010, two different versions were produced for different markets: a version with an ILT1 tremolo and a version with an Edge III tremolo. Several changes were introduced for 2018 including a poplar body, treated New Zealand pine fretboard (without binding) and the Standard DL tremolo.
A very similar model without the fingerboard binding is the GRG270B. The GRG270DX is another similar model with sharktooth inlays. The GRG270 was also sold as part of a Jumpstart kit with an amp and other accessories as the GRG270J.
