The S Classic body is described as a marriage of the S series and the classic Radius; the body is similar to the Radius models, while the neck is from the S Classic.

The SCR220 features a mahogany body bolted to a 25.1" (638mm) scale maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Components include a TZ30 synchronized tremolo bridge and a pair of Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups.
