The RG470 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1992. The RG470 was introduced as a more affordable alternative to the RG570. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.

The RG470 went through several iterations throughout the years. This first model was produced in Japan and shared many similarities to the RG570. Both models used the same Ibanez Vintage pickups, basswood body, rosewood fingerboard and locking nut. Differences from the RG570 included an Edge tremolo bridge (rather than the RG570's Lo-Pro Edge), a bulkier standard neck joint and a square jack plate.

The RG470L is a left-handed version.

In 1994 production of the RG470 was moved to Korea and several changes were introduced to the new model, including new pickups, bridge and neck.
