RG1712 in Royal Violet Red copyright sprite

The RG1712 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1997. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J Custom line.

The RG1712 features a quilted maple top on a mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset abalone dot position markers. Components include a pair of DiMarzio humbucking pickups with a Tone Zone at the bridge and an Air Norton at the nect, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.

The RG1702 is a similar model with a flamed maple top.

The RG1712 was produced only in 1997.
