The Ibanez ARC series is a series of electric guitar models produced by Hoshino Gakki. It is based on the classic Ibanez Artist model, but has a single cutaway body shape. It was introduced in 2006 along with the ARX series as a subseries of affordable alternatives for the Ibanez Artist.
As stated in the 2006 catalogs, the ARC is the first single cutaway Artist in 30 years, probably referring to the 1976 '2676' model. Another single cutaway Artist subseries, the ART series, was introduced in 2007. This one replaced the ARC series in 2008.
In total, three ARC models were issued: the ARC100 and ARC300 in 2006 and 2007 and the top of the line ARC500 only in 2007. All ARC models feature a mahogany body with maple top, a set-in mahogany neck, a Gibraltar III bridge with Quik Change Ultra tailpiece and two humbucking pickups.
