The AM153 is an Artstar series hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2013. It was made in China.
The AM153 features a smaller, semi-hollow, double cutaway body design with a flamed maple top with ƒ holes and cream multi-binding on flamed maple back and sides mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with cream binding and pearl/acrylic and abalone split block position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 58 humbucking pickups with gold covers and individual volume and tone controls and a Tri-sound switch for the neck, a Tune-o-matic style bridge and tailpiece, a bone nut, a pickguard painted to match the top, Sure Grip III knobs, and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2015 the pearl and abalone inlays were replaced with acrylic and abalone.
The AS153 is a related model with a slightly smaller flamed maple body.
The AM153 was discontinued in 2018. It was replaced with the AM153QA which has a quilted ash body.
