The AE900 is an AE series acoustic/electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2016. The AE900 is the flagship acoustic guitar in the Ibanez lineup. Along with the AE800, it is the first Ibanez acoustic guitar to be made in Japan for at least 20 years.

The AE900 features a Venetian cutaway body shape with a solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped cross-bracing and solid Indian rosewood back and sides with a gloss finish. The soundhole is round with an abalone and maple rosette. It has a satin-finished mahogany neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with special maple position markers. Components include a compensated bone saddle in a rosewood bridge with ebony pins with abalone dots, a bone nut, a tortoise pickguard and chrome Gotoh tuning machines.

Electronics consist of a T-bar undersaddle pickup connected to a ¼" endpin output with the only onboard control being a mute button. The AGPD10 preamp unit is external to the guitar.

The tonewood for the AE900 is prepared with a specially developed far infrared low temperature drying process. Compared to a typical drying furnace, this process stresses the wood less preserving more of the wood's resin and maintaining the natural timbre.[1]

The AE800 is a similar model with a mahogany back and sides and different fretboard inlays.
